This 6 hour course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deal with typical sports related injuries.
Incident management, Unresponsive Casualities - causes & treatment, Resuscitation - baby, child, adult [+ defibrillator use], Choking - baby, child, adult and pregnant casualty, Control of bleeding, shock & fainting, Recognition and treatment of fractures, Muscle & joint injuries (including cramp, knee injuries), Burns & scalds, Miscellaneous conditions - heat exhaustion & hypothermia, spinal injuries, head injuries, chest injuries, friction burns, blisters; First aid equipment, Orofacial injuries - knocked out teeth, nosebleeds
Performance & knowledge assessments take place throughout the course. 100% attendance is required.
This course is aimed specifically at those people & organisations involved in the provision of sporting activities. This includes participants, coaches and staff. Owing to the high practical content of our course (including floor work), delegates are advised to wear appropriate clothing for their personal comfort.
