This course introduces the principles of food safety. The course is designed for anyone working in catering, manufacturing or retail where food is prepared, cooked and handled. This course is in Catering Level 2, we can also offer exams in Food Safety Level 2 in Manufacturing and Retail upon request.
Legislation, Food safety hazards, Temperature control, Refrigeration, Chilling and cold holding, Cooking, Hot handling and reheating, Food handling, Principles of safe food storage, Cleaning, Food premises and equipment.
All delegates will undertake a formal multiple-choice examination at the end of the course. All successful delegates will receive a Level 2 Food Safety certificate, which is valid for 3 years. The exam paper is in English other languages are available on request (7 days notice required).
