Frequently Asked Questions

We provide complimentary tea and coffee and have a small shop where delegates may purchase cold drinks, crisps and snacks. We have a fridge and microwave as we recommend delegates bring a packed lunch. The nearest sandwich shop is on Beverley Road (1 mile). Our shop also sells first aid supplies.

We are pleased to accept all major debit and credit cards, Paypal, Cheques (made out to Health and Safety Training Services Ltd) and BACS payments. We can set up an account for you, our credit terms are 30 days.

Comfortable, casual clothing should be worn as there is an element of practical/floor work.

The HSTS car park is situated across the road from our training centre. Parking is free of charge, on street parking is also available.

We have a secure bike store room inside our building that is free of charge.

We never cancel or postpone courses. Even if we only have a small number of delegates booked on the course, it will still go ahead.

Yes, we can come to your work place or other chosen venue to deliver the training. We currently travel to customers in Beverley, Bridlington, Leven, Cottingham, Withernsea, York, Goole, Scarborough, Harrogate, Bradford, Grimsby and Scunthorpe to name just a few!

Yes, please let us know as soon as you can before the course date. There is no charge for re-scheduling and there is no cancellation fee.

We issue certifications as soon as the course has been paid for. If you have prepaid, you may take your certificate away with you on the day you complete the course.

All first aid certificates are valid for 3 years except 3 Hour Annual Update certificates which are valid for 12 months.

Manual Handling Awareness certificates are valid for 3 years.

Other ‘Awareness’ certificates: AED, Fire, Asbestos, Oxygen, Needlestick, Epilepsy and Diabetes, are all valid for 1 year.

If your original certificate has been lost, damaged or kept by a previous employer, please contact us.

Where possible please provide as much of the following details to help us find your training records:

Your name
Your company/employer name (if the training course was booked through your employer)
Date of training course and venue

There will be a small charge for replacement certificates to cover printing and postage costs.

First Aid Certificates: £14.40 inc VAT

We send reminder emails 4 - 6 weeks before current certificates are due to expire. Delegates are also advised to check their expiry dates (HSTS can not be held responsible if certificates lapse).

All our training staff are fully vetted and hold enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks (previously CRB checks).

The standard postage cost for all orders below £50 is £5.99. For orders of £50 or above, postage is free. We deliver orders ourselves or send them by courier.
